Anyone try using vandal-resistant locking trash cans?

I have asked the police about this, unfortunately I am in CA and the homeless can basically do whatever they want. Even if they arrest them they’ll just be back within a few hours and even more pissed off than before.

Anyone try using vandal-resistant locking trash cans?

Yea, it’s very frustrating. They dump mine over to sift through it too, or possibly just on purpose because they hate me. I think one that has a locking side door, bolts to the ground, and has some type of lid that prevents them from easily reaching in and pulling out trash might work… but they...

Anyone try using vandal-resistant locking trash cans?

I have been having a lot of problems with homeless people dumping over my trash cans (I just use empty 55 gallon drums) and throwing the trash around everywhere and am desperate for ideas. I have been considering buying some vandal resistant trash cans that lock, like they have at parks and...

    Replacing CryptoPay buttons - how?

New ones are $400+ tax. If I can buy a button for under $15 and repair it myself in less than 15 minutes it’s well worth it. I was mainly using this one as practice since it is very old and I didn’t care if I ruined it.

    Crytopay reader repairs

If the only problem is the button not lighting up there is a good chance you can repair it yourself if you’re willing to try. I found several threads on here about it including links to buy new buttons online. Need to open the back and unsolder old button and resolder new one.

    Replacing CryptoPay buttons - how?

I thought about it but since this swiper is probably 8+ years old and the circuit board has some water damaged I think it’s probably not worth the trouble.

    Replacing CryptoPay buttons - how?

I bet this was one of the earliest swipers they made. The serial number is in the low 4 digits. This particular one seems to have some water damage anyway so it’s probably not worth repairing. I was just curious how to do it. Sounds like the newer ones will be easier now that I have the buttons...

    Replacing CryptoPay buttons - how?

After being frustrated by the fact that CryptoPay won’t repair swipers more than a few years old and after reading on here that changing the buttons is fairly easy, I thought I would give it a try. My first problem was that the screws holding the back cover on were so rusty I had to drill them...

Help repairing Fleck 9000 water softener?

I am trying everything I can to get this softener back in service. That’s part of the issue now - I just had the resin replaced but then the company couldn’t find the right head so now I am trying to figure that part out myself. So I have good tanks and brand new resin but need a new head. In...

Any other suggestions for how I can make this work?

Help repairing Fleck 9000 water softener?

My current one is set to 20 so I think it should work? I might have to go with an electronic one if I have to. Can anyone point me to an equivalent 1” version?

Help repairing Fleck 9000 water softener?

Yes but the valves/seals/etc are worn out anyway so I would like to replace the whole thing. It’s 20 years old.

Help repairing Fleck 9000 water softener?

I have a Fleck 9000 mechanical head that is washed out and the valves/seals are old anyway so I need to replace the whole head. I bought what I thought was the right part but after receiving it I noticed it was quite different and after googling for hours I now believe they make a 3/4" meter...

    Rowe changer problem, eating money

Update: I tested the coils with an ohmeter, they all were around 9.2. I also swapped the solenoids from $1 and $5 to see if the problem follows. Using the test buttons (very helpful thanks!) they all worked just fine dozens of times each this morning. I couldn't reproduce the problem I was...

    Rowe changer problem, eating money

Wow almost $2k per machine. What about it is so much better? Looks like you are forced to use one hopper for dollar coins and one for quarters? Right now I use both hoppers for dollar coins and prefer it that way. And this only has a 500 note stacker vs my current 1000.

    Rowe changer problem, eating money

Is this different than the MARS conversion kit? I did that a while back and it’s been great. But this coin assembly is still the same original part of course.

    Rowe changer problem, eating money

Ah thanks!! I would have been looking for them forever on the coin assembly. So if for some reason one of them doesn’t work properly (I think just the $1 bucket), is it as simple as replacing the solenoid? Or is it possible something isn’t lubricated enough? Or anything else?

    Rowe changer problem, eating money

I have a Rowe BC-1400 and started getting complaints that it was eating money… as in, accepts $1 and makes a clicking sound but no coin comes out. I took a look at it and sure enough the bill acceptor takes the $1 and the coin dispenser flap at the bottom of the $1 bin makes a clicking sound as...

    Cryptopay issue

If it’s just one bay, check the button on the swiper. A customer can press and hold the button for a few seconds to clear out their remaining time once they are done, but I had a button get stuck randomly which would clear out the time as soon as they started in which case they still get charged.
