New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

Correct - weep guns. We have the same unloaders on all other pumps and they work fine. But you could be right, this one might just be bad. I have a few other new ones on hand, I will try another one.

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

There is a valve to shut off the water supply from the manifold if that’s what you mean? It is wide open now. I am kind of wondering if the lack of check valve on the out port could be the issue? I noticed all other bays have that except for this one. Maybe when the pump trigger is closed, the...

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

Just replaced the supply hose with a new section. Might have helped a bit but hard to tell. I am now wondering if it’s ok and I am making it seem worse than it really is? Here are some videos. The first one shows the much smoother pump next to it, followed by the new rougher pump. The second...

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

I am sort of thinking you are right about starving it for water. The two are plumbed the same, except the feed hose for this new one is slightly old and bent/flat a bit. I did try squeezing it to make it perfectly round while the pump was running though and that didn’t seem to make a difference...

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

They are gravity fed through a holding tank that sits above the pumps. Not sure about the wax or rinse soap behavior, I will check that today when I go shortly. My guess is probably the same behavior since the only difference is the chemical gets added to the water supply when the solenoid...

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

I am currently thinking that the banging of the unloader when the gun trigger is released could be because the locking nuts in the unloader are not in the right position - could that make sense? The unloader was originally not allowing me to set the pressure high enough so I took the handle off...

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

Yes, I did. I also put some drops of oil in the three holes but then when I read the instructions it said to not do that at first, but it was too late. I don’t think that could be causing the problem but maybe?

New Cat 310 running rough - any suggestions?

I had an older pump that I thought was on its last legs, so I just replaced it with a brand new Cat 310 and new unloader. After hooking it all up and turning it on, it runs fairly rough. Not extremely rough but not smooth (I can compare it to the pump right next to it and it runs much smoother)...

    Self server air dryers

My inexpensive solution to the 90 degree hose rubbing problem: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Fernco-2-in-x-2-in-PVC-DWV-90-Degree-Mechanical-Flexible-Elbow-PQL-200/100372309 Buy those and cut the wide parts off each end. Once you do that they will fit snugly over the metal boom (and use one of...

    Cryptopay forcing switch

Thanks for checking. I think they purposely make the statements difficult to read. The amount over interchange isn’t $0.25, it’s 0.25%, but not sure how that would be reflected. The per swipe fee (or might be “auth fee” or similar) should show up as a 0.06 somewhere on there. Another question...

    Cryptopay forcing switch

Very helpful thread. For those who are posting rates from WorldPay, do you happen to know the “per swipe” fee and the amount over interchange? Those seem to be the two most important factors. I am being quoted 0.06/swipe and 0.25 over interchange. Both seem high, but they claim I should end up...

Solenoids for corrosive lo-ph triple foam? (And product suggestions?)

I think you guys are probably right that I should switch chemicals and that this basic setup wasn’t originally designed for this low ph product. I will start looking for an alternative. Appreciate all of the helpful advice!

Solenoids for corrosive lo-ph triple foam? (And product suggestions?)

Thanks again for the helpful replies. I just took a few photos to show the current setup. If I can’t find a solenoid that works, it sounds like switching chemicals is the next best option. Any additional suggestions are appreciated!

Solenoids for corrosive lo-ph triple foam? (And product suggestions?)

What chemicals would you recommend for this? I am open to ideas. I will take and post some photos tomorrow of the setup. It has 3 tanks with 3/8” valves coming out of the bottom, then the solenoids which have 3/8” hose barbs on the outside which connect to clear tubing that the chemical flows...

Solenoids for corrosive lo-ph triple foam? (And product suggestions?)

Thanks for all the great replies! To answer some questions: - The orifice size is 3/8” (I mistakenly typed 3/4 in the original post which is way too big) - The dema valves that I have been using so far are these...

    Back flow problem

I had one that leaked, paid good money to have it serviced, they replaced internal parts and tested it and said it’s working properly now. Still leaks. Complained enough that the guy came back, checked it again, said definitely working properly and suggested I just put a funnel under it and run...

Solenoids for corrosive lo-ph triple foam? (And product suggestions?)

Hi guys - hoping you can help with a problem I am having at my self-serve wash. I have a triple foam system that uses a lo-ph chemical and it seems to eat away at the solenoids until they leak and then the colors blend together. I have tried a few different Dema solenoids from KR and still have...
