Put a quarter in my bay and it registers a Dollar.

I know simplest idea is to swap LED 7 and see if problem persists. (It is programmed for a coin = .25 I checked that. So, while I may swap LED 7 before i get there can anyone tell me if it may be the coin mech? Doesn't seem possible.

I would check the coin mech first.

How did you discover this?

It's not likely to be the coin acceptor unless it's a multi-coin unit. I have seen a Slugbuster II 2-coin go bad and misread quarters for tokens and give four pulses for them.

Well, swapped in another LED to find same issue. The checked mech. SBII Unit. Found switch set to 4 Pulses per coin. Don't know how long it has been that way or how it could possibly get changed. Discovered when a friend mentioned. that I was giving more time now! Silly me I just checked the programming without testing further - until I did.

Unless a quarter is in the second slot, the unit is defective. They come default with a token in it and the switches set to 4 pulses per token.

Perhaps it started reading quarters as tokens? I don't use tokens so if It now reads it as a tone with one pulse per coin all is good.

You'd be better off adjusting either the quarter or the token side sensitivity to zero to make sure only one side is taking coins. I don't think it can double-pulse if both sides accept the coin, but I feel it would be better if only one side is active for one coin.
