250 watt wall pack conversion to LED...?

I saw them too but wasn't sure enough about the brightness and distance of light to buy them.
Soapy do you have them up and running?
Any pics?

They have one mounted and powered at the club I go to - it doesn't look any brighter than a 100-watt bulb.

I kept seeing LED conversions for a specific brand of wall-pack but would probably work in any fixture it would fit, I think they were about $70, but I can't remember if it was on kleen-ritecorp.com or 1000bulbs.com and I can't find them on either site now.

I changed all mine out with 2 bulb 4' T8's with water/vapor tight covers 7 1/2 years ago I put four on each wall and three down the middle of the tandem bays. They were a lot brighter then the 250 watt Metal Halide. I had zero maintenance until this fall. I replace all bulbs at a cost of $2.25 per bulb.

My local electric company did an audit and the new lights would pay for themselves in 2 years after my rebate, and that did not include repairs and maintenance on my old fixtures. Keep in mind that I did the install myself, so I had no labor costs.

I hope this helps, get rid of the old crap, you will be very happy.

JM I do not have any mounted yet. It has been below zero for the last week so I am waiting for it to warm up. MEP1 a 100 watt bulb has about 950 lumens while these fixtures are rated at 4000 lumens or more than 4X as much light as a 100 watt bulb.

A picture of the Sams club light installed. Looks pretty good for a area light above a coin changer or similar. I would not use it to try an light up a parking lot by itself though.

Can you imagine what a 40w incandescent would look like in the same place? Not even close....I put one of these Sams club 40w LED pole lights on the front of my mothers barn replacing a burnt out 250w metal halide. I mounted it to the original 1.5" pole about 2' from the building. Its amazing how much light you get out of a 40w fixture. She was happy when I told her how much it would cost to operate each month!

Dang - for $60, I might try to use one of those Sams Club lights and install the element inside my current wall pack. Do you guys think it would work with some modifications?

My first thought would be no, the LEDs are mounted on a heat sink which is part of the cast unit. They probably won't last very long without proper cooling.
