My Flir camera system captures video to a 264 file. How do you play the media outside the camera system software? I tweeked my VLC player settings but the video is jumpy. Any other options?

I now take the quick and dirty way for most footage I want to save. I use my I phone to film what is on the monitor.

My Lorex system creates .dav video files. The only way I know to watch these files is with the player supplied by Lorex. I upload the files to YouTube as a .dav file and then download them to my computer as a mp4 file that any old player will recognize. I would think you could do the same with the 264 files you have.

This might be overly simple, but have you tried renaming the .dav file as .mp4 and then tried to play with something like WMC-HC? Unless it's a compressed file that player should open it.

Our Lorex Flir system can save in multiple formats and one being MP4. Try extracting it again and look for options to save it in a different format.

I thought the same thing first couple times I recorded from my Lorex recordings. Then I found that when you are saving the files you have selected it has 3 or 4 different formats to save as. Just click on the .mp4 and you can play with pretty much anything.
