4000 drifting

Hello,
My 4000 is drifting in the home position its sensing the front limit its lit on the gantry but its rolling past the flag sometimes which in turn activates the rear limit when it goes past frnt flag. Sometimes both rear and front are on if it catches them just right and then locks machine from moving towards entry.
Poking around i noticed that if i lean on the tbar when in home position and front limit is on i can roll the machine towards the dryers and replicate it going past the flag othertimes i push on it and its locked in place. Machine always locks if trying to roll towards the entry in about a 1/4 rotation of tire. When rolling towards dryers 9 out of 10 times it will lock once and a blue moon it will roll a bit more and lock sometimes wont lock at all u could can roll it all the way

Start by checking your bridge tire pressures. They should be between 25 and 28 psi. If they are right then you may have a bad bridge gearbox.

Thanks, tire pressure ok.. Think its gear box few weeks ago idiot with a truck and ladder rack got wedged in it almost tore the whole machine out of the ceiling.
Its only locking in place when u push it towards the exit sometimes mostly if u put alot of pressure on it u can roll the machine towards the exit.
***if u try to roll it towards the entrance it locks in right away about a 1/4 tire rotation.
Can someone explain the logic of why it locks in one direction but not the other. And what is broken in the gear box that allows it to roll/drift is it the key getting worn or sheered?
What ive noticed watching it is that when the high pressure rinse kicks in at the start the machine will drift back towards the exit enough that the rear limit 30mm catches the home flag. The machine will come across the front make its turn at the driver side but go out of service because the rear limit wont let it move towards entrance.
Anyways thanks for any and all input on what causes the gear box to fail thanks

Gear Boxes wear out. The two gears get sloppy. Check to make sure the drive shaft couplings are tight to the shafts. I would replace the gear box If that is number one suspect.

Like Jsobi said gearboxes get slop in them as they age. You can get more time out of them by overinflating the tires. This will serve as a kind of clamp on the rail between the tire and rollers. It will buy you time, but while running this way you will be putting more stress on the rollers, Bridge motor and gearbox. It will increase the chance that you will break a tooth in the gearbox. Typically you can 3 to 6 months more out of the gearbox before it breaks.

If you don't have the gearbox yet and the bay is down, I would overinflate the tires and get the bay back up while you get your parts and schedule the repair.
