Hi all. Have issue with acw4 on in bay auto. Keeps coming up out of service after entering money ( not every time though) I think it’s related to after giving change in quarters. I look at error and says “drop switch stuck”. This is what manual says. I am new to this so not sure exactly.
DROP SWITCH STUCK
The normal signal on the Drop line, in standby, is a TTL level logic low. When signaling that a
coin is being dispensed this line gets pulled high briefly. If this line should get pulled high for an extended period of time, this error will result and the machine will be shut down. This situation is only tested during the time a payout is occurring.

So in lamens terms what does this mean? What is broken? Thank you very much for help

It means the payout switch in the Hopper is out of adjustment or bad. I'd replace it with a new switch, but before you do that. Power down the ACW, remove the Hopper and remove the front cover from the Hopper, remove the black baffle, you'll see the payout switch on top of the Hopper, clean any debris from under the switch arm if there is any dirt or lint there. Reinstall the hopper and see if it works, if doesn't replace the switch.

Thanks Randy. I am new again to this. So I will have to take a look to see if I can do this. I take it it’s easy to remove hopper and front cover. Then easily able to identify the payout switch. Is there a standard payout switch number so I csn order anyway just to have? Or is it all different

SW Indiana melon fields.
Yes, it's very easy to access the switch. Just remove the screws holding the front cover, and the two big ones that hold the handle. Once you pull the black plate out it will be right there.

The switches are all the same as far as I know. The kleen-rite switch is the old style which is a royal pain to adjust. I would just call Randy and order a new style switch. It's much easier to install and doesn't need adjusting like the old style, which is where all the curse words come into play. K/R may have the new style, but you're at the mercy of whoever answers the phone actually knowing what you want. Randy knows his stuff.

Thanks all. I am heading there shortly to see if I can clean out to see if that helps. Right now I have exact change on machine so I have been ok so far through last night.

Well to start I don’t know what the drop switch looks like. What I saw in hopper was not like the switch on links ou sent but I guess similar. Took off cover of hopper, on top of hopper was a black switch with a push button in middle and a lever on top that would push down on switch and one side of lever connected to a spring. I found an old hopper from previous owner and switched out that switch with lever. Same problem. Then I switched out spring. It worked three times in row so not sure. So is that switch I described you think the drop switch ? Thanks

I highly recommend you use the #11-0008 Payout switch and not the newer #100-0151 payout switch.
