My equipment room is becoming cramped. With the future addition of another iba it will only get worse. I'm thinking of adding on to the back (entrance) side of it. The addition would be office/quiet zone with plenty of windows so we could see customers entering the iba's. We could then greet them.

Any advice for designing such a room addition? My wash is a typical 6 bay with the equipment room in the middle and 3 bays on each side of it.

I have you given any thoughts about building up? Soapy in Idaho built a penthouse suite on top of one his washes, with all the amenities. At one of his other washes he has a spacious office.

One of my washes had an upstair penthouse. It also allows you to rent it out to a college kid or retired guy to watch your wash in exchange for rent.

Several years back I built on the back of my to add second IBA, the only regert I have is I wish it was a larger room.

IMO, you can never build too large.

You can also just move some items above. It's fairly easy and cheap to erecta stout shelf and move stotrage tanks up there. Get horizontal tanks and air compressor, and storage for other items.
