adding remote access speaker to surveillance system

Has anyone added a speaker to communicate to there customers from home or from another location?

If so. What kind of speaker are you using and how long has it been in use?

I have this hooked up through my camera system. Need to make sure your DVR has two way audio capability. If so you'll need to adjust some settings and install a mic or two and a PA system. Typically I'll listen to sound on my iPad and speak on my iPhone so I know that it's comming over the speakers clearly.
 
I have the capability with my DVR. I was just wondering what kind of speaker and mic you are using and if they have lasted for awhile?
 
I installed a speaker in each bay and a couple on the lot. Basic amp and mic in the E/R with an input from the DVR. Pretty cheap, simple, and basic,
