Ditto on the MicroCoin Qls for in wet bay use. Very little trouble with them ... one self inflicted by trying to force out a Kennedy Half dollar out of its coin return. If anyone is throwing the no longer working ones away ... PM me ... we might be interested in cannibalizing a few with one or two of ours no longer usable or mountable in present condition. I have my own UPS acct that I can assign # & email a printable shipping label so throwing them in a box for me ... it would be better than throwing them away IMO.

On the IDX X-20s from Etowah Valley ... I have actually had better luck with them than a multi coin IMONEX that I tested in my Dixmor readout coin op vacuums. I was going to use about 35 IDX on my laundromat upgrade but we decided to gamble on SparkFun's Arcade style 6 distinct coins or token mechs. Not on line for public use yet but have be testing favorably them in the back qarage - office for about a year & a half now. That 35 coin mech upgrade hopefully with happen with a few months along with making our large washers customized to a more customer friendly soap & fabric softener adding compartments. Hopefully, not too much excitement for a ... gulp ... older person?

Same here as everyone is saying about IDX. The MA800's used to be great, but anymore they are a terrible company!! Turnaround even on brand new units is ridiculous!! They say its everyone else's fault, they cant get this or that anymore?? Absolutely no quality control anymore and they could care less about any support. I recently installed another 20 some MA800's and have have several brand new units dont work, they say send them in and we will get them back within a few months??? They are sitting on a shelf and I starting using the QL's and I like them, a little smaller, easier to work with. Time will tell but I have heard good things so if anyone is interested in 50 or so MA800's let me know, I'll make a deal.

I've cut the drop portion short to reduce jams when the coins were catching going into the safe. I even had to bend an elongated drop out of aluminum for the IDX ones because the slot is misaligned with the hole to the coin tray by a good 1/2".

I liked the MA800s from 15 years ago, but some of the latest ones haven't lasted two months, and the ones I've sent for repair have taken months, some don't even come back, just "beyond repair (and they aren't damaged or burnt up or anything) and half the ones they repaired had the same problem when I got them back.

Cashless (C) is the true future.
Why that may be teue in some areas, the Dollar Coin is gaining steam in many other areas. There's a guy on here who has a lot of knowledge about that.
if Dollar Coins, dont work, you might also just consider accepting checks.
