airlift door trouble

classic1

I have a new airlift door that I just had installed because someone ran through my last one and busted it up. After it was installed the installer said that the computer at the wash or something was preventing it from closing. The door will open fine and if he reverses the line into the close side it will close the door. I dont know if that quite makes sense the way I described it. I have a Futura millenium and the factory is out so cant call them for help. Would this likely be photo eye trouble? Thanks to anyone who might know.

Try disconnecting the photo eyes and see if that works, I have had that same problem at another wash and it turned out to be the photo eyes slowly going out.

Is the IBA actually sending a signal, or is so quick it won't reverse the door.
On my old IBA the signal pulsed so quick- It wouldn't see the signal.
We put in a ice cube relay with a small timer to hold in for a
half second or so, and then it worked. Or it could be the eyes, unless
all is well when you manually hit the buttons.

Same here.

If you shut off the power to the automatic wash, then the buttons on the airlift box should properly operate the door up and down.

If you still cannot get the door to operate then the issues is inside the airlift box itself.

The air control valve is not being switched from open to closed. In the past I have had the emergency open button fail by leaking air. This will prevent the door from closing.
