Has anyone installed the American Changer with Cryptopay retrofit for Hamilton cabinets? Their description says it will slide right into a Hamilton cabinet. For some reason this is sending my crap detector off the gauge.

Anybody that has done it, please share the experience.

Thanks in advance.

Why? If the outside dimensions of the American is less than the inside of a Hamilton, it should slide in. I'm sure that you are not just going to whack the door off and stick it in there. The hopper mounting, door strikers, and probably a few other things would have to be cut out, but I can't see why it would be a big deal.

Are you talking about a Bill changer or a Auto Cashier?

The auto cashier retrofit that is featured at $300 off this month on the KR website. I.B.- I am sure the unit will actually fit in. My point is more of how to you make that to look great cosmetically?? Just removing the old door and components and sliding this thing in does not seem to me as it would look good without some sort of trim panels or space fillers.

I just wanted to see a pic if someone else has done it, and what they did, if anything, to make it look entirely new.

What's wrong with the Hamilton ACW? Every piece of American Changer equipment that I've ever come across is in the scrap pile. I had a customer call me last week looking for parts to his American credit card token dispenser, I told him to take the machine out of the wall and put it into the blue box out back, our dumpsters are blue.

Well..... I have 11 American Changer units: 7 auto cashiers and 3 changers and one credit card token machine. I have 2 Hamilton units; a Goldline and an ACW-5. Both of which came with a wash I bought at Sheriff's sale 4 years ago. I have spent more on parts and repairs in 4 years on the 2 Hamilton units than I have the entire lifetime of all the American Changer units combined--a couple are 12 years old, the newest are 9 years old. (Not including routine validator maintenance)

I have found AC units to be reliable and service/tech support good (not that Hamilton's Service is not good; just that parts and repairs are extremely expensive) On the ACW-5, I have just had non-stop credit card issues for some reason. And it has just gotten to be a hassle.
