American Changer - The new "green stripe" hopper

Has anyone had any issues with the new green stripe hoppers? I've gone through 3 of them now for basically the same issues. Optoblock errors and hopper low errors (when it's full). Yes, I've cleaned the plates and checked the eye but the error happens almost daily until changed out for a new one.

Also, I have one remaining 110v American changer left. I know the old MKIV hopper works for it as well as, to my understanding, the green stripe hopper v3 works on 24v and 110v. What are my options for keeping this changer alive? Is there any way the new green stripe hopper will work on the old 110v board?

Yes, we've had 2 that were less than 1 year old that the sensor/hopper control board went out, which caused the optoblock error, definitely not built like they used to. And repair not monetary feasible. You can get an evolution hopper from American changer that will work in place of the new green stripe, those seem to have longer life. Also, check your hopper cable, we've had that go bad as well, and caused these same errors.

Are you dispensing tokens? I had hopper empty issues with the older MK IV hoppers, that drove me crazy. It ended up that my tokens weren't as conductive as quarters or dollars and would often throw the machine out of service. Bypassed the empty switch and the problem went away.

having quite a few problems with green stripe hoppers, screws support breaking, easy jams, design is weak and require a lot of belt cleaning, limited to 1$ tokins to limit jams. we have all ready replaced 5 hoppers with existing design because there is nothing better DONT RECOMMENT AMERICAN CHANGER BECAUSE OF WEAK DESIGN

From what I understand, they are going back to the evolution hoppers, maybe having too many failures on their design?

Do you know if you can bypass the sensor on the green stripe ones? Both my new ones that didn’t last long give the hopper low error.

On my hoppers, the wire terminals were exposed. So to bypass, I just stacked both wires on the same terminal. I never had any "stripe" hoppers, so I don't know if they are the same.
