The brick at my wash is 25 years old. I'm adding on some card swiper boxes. It seems as though the brick is becoming brittle or I hit a "hollow" area where I need an anchor. Anyone have a suggestion for a slick anchor to use?
All-thread with epoxy will work - there's a piece of screen you use in the hole if the block is hollow, otherwise you just squirt epoxy in the hole and shove the all-thread in. Another option is to bolt it through the wall.

There's not much more to it than how it sounds; drill a hole, insert epoxy and rod, let cure, mount fixture. Check with a local bolt supply company - they should have the epoxy, mixing tubes and screens to use with hollow block.
Its amazing how well they hold, even if you drill into the hollow part of the block which is about an inch thick. I have my FB and Matt Holders attached with these. Haven't had any pull out yet. They also make plastic body ones that are easy to drill out if you need to get them out. Like for hanging signs...
They are pretty good, but I wouldn't rely on them to mount something the customer might try to pull off the wall thinking there's money in it. If you do use them, use more than a couple for security.
