If cleaning bays is a big issue, don't get a carwash. Just part of the deal. Today we had two 5 gallon buckets of horse manure and a bay wall covered in engine oil. We have no choice but to clean it up and roll on.

I actively deter it and it keeps mess to a minimum. IMO, a permissive attitude just makes things worse. With the cost of labor a careless person can easily cost me more money than they spend. Some would counter that the employee is just going to be standing around doing nothing, they might as well be cleaning up a mess that someone paid to make. That works too, I just prefer a cleaner facility and nicer clientele. It makes the business easier to tolerate.
