The media can take a factual item and turn it into something sensational. A good example is when someone gets bit or killed by a shark. One attack in South Carolina makes the evening news. Did you know however that more people are killed each year by toasters? Just doesn't have the wow factor as sharks. Can you see this on the evening news: "Mildred Jones killed by her toaster in Paducah KY" ? Family members said she had that Toastmaster for 25 years.
