A Shop Vac at Sears would be cheaper LOL
Diamond,

We use an old Sears 6 HP shop vac for our about one tenth the size smaller pit in our Laundromat.

Is it OK to watch you while you do all of your car wash pits with something similar? Your assignment is to get a demonstration of the process on YouTube.

Lets see now ,,. maybe one of us can design:) a way for the mud to transfer it to a larger container without too much fuss ... maybe the right kind of check valve ... with 2 shop vacs working simultaneously to generate more suction & for the intermediate transfer. Hmmm ... just thinking out loud ... that could ... require the second vac to have its blower side used!

Final update - Been using my 850 deep vac now for a month. It's absolutely amazing! It really thoroughly cleans the pits leaving no room for question whether they're clean or not. There may have been issues others have had in the past, but I believe the new ownership of Ring-O-Matic hasn't hurt them one bit. Bob and others there have been very accommodating and pleasant to work with throughout the purchase process and picking up the equipment myself. Really glad I made the investment.

it depends on the pit you are cleaning. for a pit that has walls that the pit grate is outside of the walls the clam shell is better. but if you have pits 5' wide and 10' long and a grate thats 3' square the the suction is better. ring o matic is the best in the biz.
