Trying to find someone with knowledge on this pump and how to replace the oil seal. Tried Arimitsu with no response. Anyone out there replaced the oil seal? Just dig it out or is there an easier way? Thanks

I've watched that video. He doesn't talk/show about the oil seal. This oil seal is mounted behind the ceramic plunger way back in there. Ideas?

Have you tried calling Greg at Arimitsu? He's the guy who would know since he's the US sales rep for Arimitsu.

To remove the oil seal, first remove the plunger. The best tool I've found is a very old and worn flathead screwdriver with no sharp edges left. Turn the pulley until the piston is as far down as it will go, push the screwdriver in at an angle only touching the shoulder of the piston, not the shaft at all. Pry against the piston shoulder to pop the seal out. It might help to turn the pulley to lift the piston up, which will help force the seal out. When you reassemble, you MUST replace the copper washer on the plunger bolt. It can only be compressed once, or you will end up with water in the crankcase.

The "shoulder" you mean touching only the case/green casting?

The new seal you install how?

You'll be prying up/out against the edge of the piston rod, the shoulder that is exposed when you remove the ceramic plunger.

Install by slipping the new seal over the well-oiled piston making sure the seal lip doesn't get inverted. Use a piece of PVC pipe or a socket to gently tap it all the way in.
