as a carwasher, what makes you smile?

Got to the wash yesterday morning and find my compressor motor running and no air pressure.
Find the belt came off.
Put the belt back on and it is loose. ?????
Find the motor broke loose from the spot welds on it's base.:(
OH CRAP!
Take the motor to the local welding shop and he says give him about an hour.
Price out a replacement motor, just in case, $250.00. OH CRAP!!! again.
Go back to the welding shop to pick up the motor.
He says he thinks it is okay.
How much I ask.
He says, is $20.00 OK?
I couldn't get my wallet out fast enough.
Motor back on...air pressure back up...life is good. :)

I bought a replacement compressor motor from an eBay store - free shipping and saved $400 over the price of an Ingersoll-Rand replacement and got a much better motor to boot.

When the compressor started acting up, I added a back-up compressor plumbed in and set to a lower "turn-on" pressure. It was nice to come in and hear the back-up unit running rather than getting a "low air pressure" page from the auto every time it got cold.
