Best refrigerated vending machine for high crime

OK, I would like to add an income producer to my car wash.

I think a refrigerated vending machine may help. I had a soda machine but it did not make much money and was eventually destroyed by someone attempting to steal the $10 in it.

Is there a decent refrigerated combo vending machine that is secure and under $5,000.00 that I could add to my wash?

If so, what are some income producers besides the usual car wash items?

I am thinking that Monster sodas will do well.

For the shurvend, I can't get one with a security enclosure close to that price can I? I just want to prevent future attempts at theft.

This is what I bought one year ago. I keep it outside but I am in the rural area with less crime. It has all the bell and whistles of shurvend and Kleenrite machines.

The refrigerated shurvend is made by AMS, but modified with stainless over keypad, extra lock cover over the lock and bolted on Lexan over the glass. You probably would be wise to get a cage. While it is fairly expensive , the payback is really good. Probably the best investment for your wash. I spend many hours a week filling my five refrig. vendors, and they are a great additional income source, along with giving the customers what they want to buy while at the wash.

I definitely suggest a used machine for high crime areas, also another idea if you have a lot of problems is to build an enclosure around your machines (I like cinder block with an easy to wash veneer and a metal roof (also cheap and do-it-yourself friendly) and you can then run square bar stock across the top and the bottom of the machines (from wall to wall with good anchors) so even if they can wiggle a crow bar between the wall and the machine and they pop the locks it will do no good because your square bars will still keep the doors shut, or at max open a 1/4 inch, but then you DBA, coin acceptor, and product are still safe.

If that doesn't work you can put up a metal grid in front of the machines with about 3/4 to 1 ft squares about 4 inches in front of the machines so the only thing that will fit out of the holes is the product.

Sorry something this complex I usually post pic's but I've been out of the vending business for about 10 years. Let me know if you need me to hand draw something. I always made all the brackets and bars myself but I'm sure you could do something out of Lowes or home depot pretty easy.
