A dog wash customer who just washed a service dog for his employer ... just rang my intercom bell to request a written receipt so he could get reimbursed & ultimately so his employer could have it as a proven legitimate expense. As I walked out to meet him ... it dawned on me that out of all the methods for verification ... there seems to be a foolproof way that would work the best for the business to business customer or whoever needs to show proof of not using for personal or whatever. The best seems like a photo taken from the customer's smart phone that goes into the right folder on his or her phone that can be transmitted electronically & never even would have to be printed out. How this applies to the self service car wash bay is that the pic could be taken to include the specific company vehicle & the $10 readout on the Dixmor or whatever. In this customer's case it would be the specific company or gov't entity service dog & what shows on the dog wash touch screen. BTW ... the customer agreed with me ... anybody else have requests for receipts who possibly might agree that I am thinking clearly on this!

Maybe you could just take his name and write him a receipt on a piece of letterhead.

we hand write receipts on company paper. sort of all that can be done. I like your plan and it sounds good and all but dont you think someone would find a way to BS that? you gotta think like a real POS... like anything else that is self serve you really have to foolproof and POS - proof everything, including the "receipts"

Seems like a good idea Mike, but I suspect the problem is too small to worry about. I've always been shocked that so few customers want a receipt.
For the few customers who ask for receipts, we have a small "receipt pad" we bought somewhere.
Interestingly enough, one customer asked for something more formal, I think his company had been scammed by drivers turning in fake car wash receipts. (he worked for a shipping company or something.) I had to wonder if he was the one turning in receipts that were being questioned...

For the few that have asked for a receipt, I've offered to mail them one and they have always said "That's all right, I don't need it that bad."
