Best tip size for weeping guns

My site uses 3207 size tip in winter and I run my pumps at 1200 psi. Some customers mention that there is not enough pressure. Is there another size tip that you would recommend? TIA

I run 1505 nozzles year around. The 15 degree fan gives the customer the impression that they are getting more pressure than they really are. The 05 puts out about 3.5 gallons per minute. I run my pumps at 1400 psi.

3207 @ 1,200 psi is theoretically 3.8 gpm, which is a lot, in my opinion. You could narrow the tip to a 2507. We run 1,100 @ the pump with a 2507 and have lots of pressure compliments. Your steel fittings may have corrosion and are restricting flow. Take some of them apart to check for that.

I was running 2507 at one site i reduced to 2506 almost 2 years ago (both at 1100psi). No complaints there.

I took over another site in april 2023 previous owner was running 4004. Changed to 2505 (again 1100psi). Nothing but compliments about increasing the pressure for the 1.5 years.

My mentor (who started in the SS business in the 60’s) once told me a 15 degree tip is best for cleaning and a 40 degree tip is best for rinsing. The 32 Degree tip was made to be a good compromise between the two. However, he still recommended using a 25 degree tip. We started with 2508 and have switched to 2507 and then 2506 as water/sewer costs have increased. Running 2506 now with cat 530 pumps set to 1300. I get lots of compliments.

Changing the tip size from say 2507 to 2506 will reduce water and should increase the pressure all things being equal. I still run 1508 at 1200 psi. I like the higher flow and impingement as it set me off from others washes and I can clean the bays much faster.

I use 2506@ 1000 psi measured at the nozzle with a gun I have set up to check nozzle pressure. Gauge pressure in the pump room varies from 1200-1400 psi depending on variables. I made this with an old trigger gun and barrel. At the end of the barrel I have a 1/8" street tee with a nozzle and gauge mounted. Measuring pressure at the nozzle gives a consistent high pressure experience regardless of the bay location, and if done right bay 1 should have the same pressure as bay 5..

2506 nozzle should be 3 gpm. It's easy to remember 1000 psi nozzle pressures, just take nozzle size and halve. eg- 05 nozzle =2.5gpm, 06 nozzle = 3 gpm, 08 nozzle i= 4 GPM, etc. I also use a trigger gun with a tip protector which enhances the sound of the high pressure.

Can't recall any complaints about low pressure from anyone except a few mud washers, and I ain't doing them no favors. I'ma suburban wash in a good area and 98% of my customers are not muddy. I'm not catering to the other 2% who want to remove the most mud for the least money possible. I will happily give them directions to my competition to see how their pressure is.

2506 here too...I weep 16-20 oz a minute and have never had a freezeup after insulating the trough and installing electric heat tape.
