Blue/Gray foot valves.

I've also noticed the cheaper Dema FV has a longer hose sealing surface than the blue/grey ones. The hose fits better and tighter on the Dema's. I've had the blue FV leak between the hose and FV before, even with new hose. I'll check the diameter of both FV's and see if there is any difference.

The verdict is in...This explains what I noticed on the hose fit!

Dema - .548" Diameter
Blue/Grey - .514" Diameter

***Update*** On the Cheaper Dema foot valves...4 months and not one failure. Just check them when they are new before installing. 2 out of 10 were DOA when they arrived.

Has anybody tried these?

They appear to have a larger screen area than the small Dema foot valves that are liked in this thread. They have a viton seal and are still less than half the price of the blue Hydros. The blue one didn't last but maybe six months in the presoak but strangely the one in the booster was still good. The hoses on the booster however were so brittle they broke trying to remove and replace them.

Relevant thread- Just threw away a new gray hydro foot valve yesterday. I'm not a big fan of a lot of dema products but maybe their foot valves are worth a shot.

OurTown,

Have you tried these FV's? The smaller Dema FV has a ball bearing, spring, and o'ring seat. These look like they might have a diaphragm seat? Even though I like the smaller ones and they seem to have a very long life, I'd like to try these too.

I currently use those! I switched from the blue/grays 2 years and still have not had to change one been very dependable for me.

Thanks Cap! Do you know how they are constructed? I'm assuming diaphragm style like the blue/grey ones since they have such a large filter area.
