I tried the stop leak that was recommended and no luck.
Looking closer I found my Raypak heat exchanger has a slight leak.
I have disassembled it in the past and soldered the pinhole.
This time I'm thinking of buying replacement tubes.
When the site states "tube bundle" are they meaning individual tubes or a tube assembly to which I bolt my headers to?
Part numbers I found were 002381F tube
and 002369F bundle.

model H5-0514C CCERCAAA

serial 9311111959

thx

It is a tube assembly that you bolt your headers to. Actually pretty easy to swap out. I've done it a couple times to my Raypak's.

Out of curiosity, I wonder how labor intensive it is to replace that tube assembly. We have a 399K BTU Raypak that was used only for a little over 10 years & only with proper pH antifreeze for our deicer. We plan on taking it out to free up space in our equipment room since we routed the laundry boiler water over to it via a Spirec Heat Exchanger that isolates the antifreeze. Since at night when the laundromat is closed the temps are the lowest ... it made sense to get more usage out of our step fired condensing 90+ efficiency system.

I hate to just take it to the scrap yard with it being is such great working order condition. It is not a condensing unit but it does modulate so it is supposed to have reasonably high efficiency.

I wonder what the scrap copper etc from it would be worth? ... in a worst case scenario.

My shipping invoice shows 68lbs.
But it is in a wooden crate.
And there are some metal baffles.
When I get mine apart I will weigh just the copper exchanger.

Saturday my son showed up to help swap the heat exchanger.
We got the top of the boiler off and put an air test on the HX so we could locate the leak.
No leak!
Only thing I can guess is my boiler shut down last Thursday. Floors iced up and I found the igniter on the boiler failed due to a bad ground.
I run my circulating pump 24/7. I think the low water temp let the sealer do its job.
I have 30 days to return the HX for a refund.
