so this customer pulls in, advised to put car in neutral, feet off pedals,and hands off steering. Does he comply? Big fat NO! Finally get him to cooperate and sent him through. somewhere in the tunnel the Rollers go under his tire. Customer behind him bumps his car. Trailer hitch on his car cracks the grill of rear car. Manager on duty asks Dumb Dumb why hit his break and he said I didn't hit them. Mind you that he couldn't get right when loading. Customer In vehicle behind did not notice brake lights but only felt a bump. Both exchange insurance information and leave.

The dumb dumb comes back around and asks for a rewash, does the foot on brake thing again while loading.

The customer with cracked grill comes back to wash and says that why should she deal with him, it's the wash's fault.

I did not acknowledge whether she was right or wrong. I told here I will review the video and get back to her. Video camera was blocked by top brush so I could not see brake lights on first car.

Any thoughts?

Were there a few vehicles in the tunnel? I've had a similar thing happen, and it was obvious on video footage that one of the vehicles was not moving while all the others were. And it's easy to point out that theoretically it's impossible for them to not be all moving at the same pace/speed as they are all being pulled by the same conveyor running the same speed at the same time.

HAd a lexus inexplicably go the right 50 feet in. Maybe the first in over 100K washes and thousand since and no issues. Found a lexus recall on auto breaking and article saying they may turn to avoid collision. I am denying liability. Sent copy of recall notice.

Having cameras spaced out through the car wash shows when dumb dumb stepped on the brake. We have had them for a long time.

We used 32 cameras at our washes. 16 for the tunnel and 16 for the site. 8 cameras at the entrance, and 8 in the wash area and exit. We used over 2000' of siamese cable.

JimmyJafa, what type and brand of camera are you using for the 8 camera's at your entrance? Are they pan/tilt/zoom camera's? The reason I ask is because this past year we built out our own arch that we installed in front of of our wash tunnel with 6 1080P Full HD Samsung camera's. I thought based on this setup with these camera's we would be able to see EVERYTHING on a vehicle but this is not the case. I don't think, and correct me if I'm wrong, any camera will be able to see everything UNLESS you have pan/tilt/zoom camera's. I looked into Samsung PTZ camera's and they seem to go for about $1,000 each!

You will never be able to see "everything", but with a variable focal camera you can adjust it for maximum clarity. PTZ are only good when you have someone viewing live. We focused on wheels, (amazing how many people clip curbs), 2 on top, one in each direction. We only use spinning foam so there was no way we could make a straight line. As far as brand, we used the most affordable cameras we could find with variable focus.

Even the cheapest bullet cameras can be focused by unscrewing the lens cover. My problem with most of them is they have a wide angle lens. There's probably a source who will assemble them with a normal or zoom lens.

There is a difference between focusing, and variable focal length. A variable focal lense can be adjusted between 2.8 (wide angle) and 12 (telephoto). Most fixed focal length cameras are at 3.5, just a little longer that a wide angle. hope this helps
