Breakaway fittings

I may be restarting an older post, but I am looking for advice on breakaway fittings for the hoses in our self serve bays. Although we have not had any breakages, with the exception of occasional gun damage, I am seeing an increase in the abuse of our bay equipment. Usually later at night. Trying to stay ahead of potential damage. Bays are well lit. We do not have signs indicating video surveillance. Not sure if that will help. Bays are large with 15' hoses on a swing out boom. swivel fittings on both ends of the hose. Any advice is appreciated.

Mossmatic breakaway fittings will save your booms when they get caught on a vehicle.

I use 1 breakaway from the boom to whip hose and swivel at gun and from whip hose.

I haven't tried the mossmatic one but the regular barstock one didn't work for me. It would always break at the 90 degree fitting at the end of the boom. Not the breakaway fitting so I stopped using them.

So would it be best to install it at the boom, then add the swivel and hose? And just retain a swivel at the gun? I had not thought about installing them but watched a dumbass on video spray off his flatbed trailer, and instead of walking around his trailer to put the gun back, he just threw it on his trailer and drove away. The hose stretched out and the gun flew over the tailgate of the trailer and landed on the floor. I was certain there would be damage. The downside of having a breakaway, is he would have driven away with the hose and gun. Do you think adding video signs helps reduce stupidity? (I think I already know the answer)

It's my belief you could post "ENTERING THIS BAY WILL CAUSE CERTIAN DEATH" and 100% of the cars on your lot would enter, and 5% would complain it didn't work.

That is how I would do it - No Guarantee only the gun gets hooked. Hoes could get caught n something. Yes you could lose the length of hose and gum, as opposed to the entire boom could getting ripped down.
