one of the 360 degree boom in my SS bay was damaged. Looks like someone pull it down will a lot of force or got caught in a car. Anyhow I attached two picture of the damage boom and one pic of a normal working one. Can I buy the part that is just damaged which consist of a square plate and shaft? Can't see to find this part in any catalog? I hope I don't have to replaced the whole stainless boom. Can anyone recognized what brand this boom is? It is a spydered type boom.

I might found something.

I been searching the internet and found a dual boom assembly by Ginsan that has a part that looks like what I need.

HP Boom Mounting Plate
PN 40349

The link is :
http://www.ginsan.com/techspecsA/10 tab 10/tg-343.pdf

Can anyone confirm this is indeed the part I need to replace. Thanks ahead.

That boom does look like the GinSan model - Dralco makes one with the same dimensions that will fit directly in its place.

The spindle is bent too - you'll need to replace the whole thing for it to work right.

Boom plate

I replace these all the time and buy the from Dultmeier Sales. The hard thing about replacing it is the spring tension all you need to do is use a ratchet tie down and hook one end to spring and other to end of boom and pull spring till bolt goes in.

Thanks for the help. I plan on taking down the boom in few days and seeing for sure if the shaft is bent. How do I take off the tension spring? Do I used the ratchet tie down also.

You don't need to take the spring off to remove the boom. Just remove the swivel and the two large nuts at the bottom and the boom will slip right off the spindle.

If the boom comes unassembled, a heavy-duty rachet tie-down will work to put it together.

Take it to a local welding shop. They will straighten it, weld it and reinforce it, pretty cheap or call Gin San. Talk to Doug, Show him what you got and he should be able to help you.

This should be a $150 fix. Just take it down and go get it welded. It does not look hurt other than the flat piece. Too easy to fix.

It is fixed. Thanks all for Help.

Spindle was not bent so I took to a local welder. He charged me only $15. Took him about 15 minutes to fix it. I included before and after pics. The hard put of this ordeal would have been putting the tension spring back on. Thanks to the rachet tie down idea it was not hard but still nerve racketing. I was afraid the rope will break or rachet slipped. Hope someone can learn from the pics. I certainly did. Thanks to forum again.

Thanks for the great pictures, this should help a lot of people even fixing other things.
