Calculating Water Usage and Energy Consumption

Car Wash Man

Active member
Hello, we have a Kondor KL2 attached to our car dealership and are trying to figure out the split between the two for energy and water usage for accounting. Does anyone have an idea of average water consumption and energy for a single bay automatic wash? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Per car/ idle usage would be ideal if anyone has the numbers.

Every machine is going to be different. Manufacturer should have that info. That should be a quick call or email to get what you need.

My first thought was to call the manufacturer. They were actually kind of short with me when I asked, which I was surprised by and said they don't know the info, and would not be able to give me any type of ballpark range at all.

if you can find a manual for the machine it might give you the information there. I've always heard that touch free automatics used between 75 and 100 gallons of water per wash depending upon passes, etc.

I am averaging 49 gallons/wash with my Petit 360's. When we had our LW4000's we were averaging 57 gallons/car.

CarWashMan, you're asking for some specific information without providing any details. Kinda like asking how much a truck costs.

Not looking for anything specific just a ballpark, Ill probably put down 50 gallons since that is about what you have been averaging between your two washes per car. Thank you for your help.

That's a little ridiculous

35-70 gal depending on the package. Washworld publishes water per pass but it can vary slightly depending on the speed, type of pass, and number of passes used.
