If your talking about how the dvr records the NTSC broadcast that is what I was talking about? The dvr is recording the downgraded video digitally from the camera. The way the dvr records the video is the most important aspect.

If you are arguing there is no analog video signal.... I don't want to. The feed from the camera is not digital. Just search google or plug the camera into an old analog TV.

No that is not what I am talking about. I have seen all the cameras 700 when the dvr is d1 on 2 channels. Just trying to help out and really no one know what he purchased? It's good advice when purchasing anything?

BTW 2biz what model dvr do you have? Thanks
My Q-See DVR is a QT526, 16 channel 1TB. I have it set to record @ D1 Resolution. Awhile back, this topic came up and the poster said these systems were POS for cw use. Come to find out he had the resolution set too low or what was set from the factory and it was giving him a low quality recording. When M7t said you won't get a face or tag with 700 tvl cameras, I was pointing out about different recording rates and you need to make sure your DVR will record at the faster rate. Again, my system will capture tags and faces....And its been quite successful in tracking someone down when needed. It only took the cops 2 days to track a guy down that took a bay entrance wall out. Lucky for me I had video....
