I saw a guy who had one of these Tandems. He told me it was a mini-tunnel. He said he loved his machine & it's flash drying process worked great. Anyone else have some thoughts...?

Every Tandem i have seen in person had a 7-8min wash time when i timed them with a stop watch which is longer than a 4000 a mini tunnel is 2x as fast to produce more cars which i thought was the whole theory behind a Tunnel more cars/volume. I also was not a fan of the High pressure pumps mounted inside the bridge overhead. just saying i do know a guy that loves his though.

It's all nomenclature. What some people call a mini-tunnel would be considered in the industry an in-bay automatic. A mini-tunnel is actually a very short conveyor type wash. There's a local guy with several mini-tunnels, they're only about 35 feet long.

We sell automatics that can be configured sorta into a mini tunnel. What you do is take as many functions off of the gantry and put them on free standing arches. So you have an automatic, a wax arch, a spot free arch, and blowers. With that you can get a car out in under 3 minutes. Everything has its good and bad points. With the setup I described you have to train the customers, and we know how that can be.

Would you have a conveyor in this setup, or just drive through yourself?
What about just the regular IBA, & ONLY have an automatic tire shine system, then dryers? Opinions?

We'll be putting one in in a couple of months in the Tampa area. It will be drive through. In a kick butt location next to a large gas station.

No, it will be an Istobal. It's called the Express on Rails version.
