So all your products are unscented, except the ones you add scent to.
For those of us without chemistry backgrounds, can you elaborate? What levels are dangerous? How much has to be inhaled to be dangerous? Does the application style matter?
I appreciate you bringing up the topic because I have not heard of any potential risks of scented car wash products but I would like to know a little more before I jump to a conclusion. So far your posts are attention getting but I am looking for some substance. I googled as you suggested but almost everything I read is focused on fragrances in soaps, perfumes, lotions, etc. Obviously a lot different than getting a whiff of fragrance in a car wash soap. Also, most of them are speculative at this point. I think we are missing some facts.

So you are what we call a bathtub blender is that correct ? I have been down that route before and it didn't work out. The customers want smell & scents for sure.

I do not use scents in my chemicals at my washes anymore. I got tired of customers either loving the smell or hating it. Now no one complains about the smells. But...
There are thousands if not millions of products made in this world with fragrance in them.
Are some, most or all of them bad for our health?

Eric is definitely not a bathtub blender but a knowledgeable manufacturer and he has some great products. I guess he is being refreshingly honest about fragrances in our car wash chemistry. Like smoking or drinking if you know the risks and still do it then at least you made an informed choice. I must admit I will be adding fragrance whilst enjoying a whiskey with a cigarette in my hand. But that's my choice.

I'm not sure how you can say that when he skirts the truth the way he does. Either all his products are unscented or they aren't.
He's made this informed decision, yet still adds fragrance to products that will end up in the faces of car wash customers. If he's so sure they're that bad, let him sell no fragranced chemicals at all, otherwise his objections in this thread are meaningless.
We are far from "bathtub blender". We supply around 1300 locations and ship worldwide.
Again, I would not want my son to work at wash breathing these scents all day. But, we give owners the choice if they want them. Adding scent of dyes take 0 effort and time.

Outta curiosity, how do you keep all your employees safe from your scents, & if so unsafe, why produce & sell then?

Again, maybe you should stick to your guns and refuse to add scent to any chemical instead of coming into a thread telling someone he shouldn't do it while you do it when asked.

Chronic exposure of anything, particularly a tunnel employee working prep duties, can't be a good thing. Its certainly something to consider.

When I was a young man working with hazardous chemicals, Hydrazine, Ammonium persulfate, Hydrogen peroxide, Sodium hypochlorite and Ammonium hydroxide solution we had to wear a air fed hood and a rubber suit. One smell of those chemicals would take your breath away right now. I have a great respect for chemical smells.

Yes our employees have full fask respirators . Again, every wash and every owner is different and we are not going to walk away from a sale over fragrances.
Do your own research and if you want these scents great, if you do not thats great also.

Thanks for the info about the scents. I honestly had not given it much thought before reading this post.
