We have broadcast music in our bays for a few years now. We are now going to put together our own CD's with music and also advertise our features etc. It will sound like our own radio station.
Any ideas for carwash/automobile related songs?
Such as: Carwash, Lil Duece coop, Little Red Corvette, etc.

I would like to request ,for alot of people who are struggling in this economy..... Some good old blues.

BTW I am being sarcastic , something upbeat like some of the tunes you mentioned above , with automobile themes would be the way to go

I would wholeheartedly take the opposite approach to this.

Here's what I'd do; First, determine the demographics of your best customers, then cater the music selection to their tastes.

Who knows, in a given market some smart blues music could be just the thing that makes your customers love washing with you vs. the other local wash!

I think you're constraining yourself a bit too much by thinking 'car' songs.

But in case I'm waaay offbase here, here are a few of my faves in no particular order:

1. Little Deuce Coupe.

2. Little Red Corvette.

3. Drive My Car

4. Most ZZ Top songs.

5. The Boomin System

6. Red Barchetta

7. Lowrider.

8. I can't drive 55.

9. Maybelline

10. I been everywhere

Have you ever heard the lyrics to "Grease Lightning"? I don't think I'd play that song at my wash.

I agree with the post above, just play what is popular with your demographics. That is what I plan to do.

PS ? Don?t forget to pay the music associations' their license fees.

Dont forget HotRod Lincoln! Ray Benson version...

All people really know of Greased Lightening is....gogogogogogogogogogogogogoggogogogogogogo.....go greased lightening!

I do like the 'You are supreme the chicks'll cream for greased lightening!'

I would think xm radio would have a good station to play all the time...

LOL I never paid THAT much attention to the song...so I googled the lyrics. It has the one line in it thats for sure. I probably wouldn't play it either now that I know better. I'm in there with raisetheprice. "gogogogogogogogogogogogogoggogogogogogogo... ..go greased lightening!" is what comes to mind when I think of the song.

I know I digress here, but there was a hilarious SNL skit featuring Christopher Walken last time he hosted (earlier this season I think) where he was directing a high school play of Grease and they had to 'clean up' the lyrics to Greased Lightnin.

Man, it was a true riot.

Worth looking up on youtube for sure.
