Cat 310 water in case

Went to the wash today and one pump was very noisy. Opened the fill cap and water got inside. The pump is running fine other than that. The new one won't be here until next week. Can I keep it in service??? Just don't know how they fail and if it will cause other issues. Thanks

Change the oil every day and it will most likely last at least a week. It's probably a cracked plunger which is an easy fix.

Thanks for the info Mep. This pump has been in service for 29 years. Think I got my money's worth.

If you need another crankcase I've got few good used ones.
