CAT 310 wearing out quickly

Folks,
I have a 310 pump that seems to wear out the valve o rings every month or so. It happens to be o rings above or below the same cylinder every time. Either the top valve or the bottom valve o ring. Is this telling me something? Today the HP was down to about 700psi and the o ring was eaten up pretty bad. Thanks!

I just got 2 heads back from Vilco. Looks like they did a good job, but haven't put one in service yet to test. I sent them all new seals, o'rings, and valves that they installed for pressure testing.

Actually $149 isn't bad for what they do. All 6 valve seats bored and sleeved with Stainless Steel inserts. They have a video on their website that shows how to put in new seals. You can get an idea of how the whole process is done.

send them to kleen rite , they actually press fit the sleeves into the head, permanent fix. I have done 3535, 310 and 5cp with them. Not sure how vilco does it but i thought putting the seals back in had to be done a certain way with vilco

Agree with iceman. I sent one to vilco, and could never get it right. The KR units are pressed in, and have had no issues with any. And I actually have stopped sending the 5cp2120w in for warranty to cat. I just send it to KR to get fixed right- and done.

I have concerns about Vilco's repair because they use an o-ring under the insert to make the seal, and if that washes out it's not repairable again. DynaJet does a permanent repair with a pressed in sleeve. They may be who Kleen-Rite uses unless they have their own process.
