i want to change from this old coin acceptor to a slugbuster I, with a paraplate T24120, is it possible? how do I wire it? Thanks

You need a 24V AC transformer to power the timer and coin acceptor. You cannot use the coin acceptor without a transformer with that timer.

After some research looks like it's 24v or 120v not both

This is the only timer I'm aware of that runs off 120V and has 24V AC output to run a coin acceptor. It's $132.12. For almost exactly $100 less you can just put a transformer under the dome.

After all this time you don't like that acceptor or are you switching to tokens or dollar coins?

If you bought some used vacs with the correct coin acceptor,24v transformer, digital displays you would be miles ahead be way easier

What I’d do is add a 24 volt transformer and a 24 volt Mercury relay to take the 110 volt load off of the timer. This way your timer will last almost forever since the only thing it’s controlling is the 24 volt coil on the mercury relay.

I’m just saying what I’d do. If he goes to all the trouble to add a transformer he might well add a mercury relay and do it up right.

Pretty sure he already has mercury relays, or has relays that stick when customers bang on the vacuums. Or maybe he has the wires on the COM and NC so when they bang on it, the closed circuit is popped open and gives a coin credit. Could be why he's changing the acceptors.
