change coin acceptor to a slugbuster I

What I’d do is add a 24 volt transformer and a 24 volt Mercury relay to take the 110 volt load off of the timer. This way your timer will last almost forever since the only thing it’s controlling is the 24 volt coil on the mercury relay.
 
Pretty sure he already has mercury relays, or has relays that stick when customers bang on the vacuums. Or maybe he has the wires on the COM and NC so when they bang on it, the closed circuit is popped open and gives a coin credit. Could be why he's changing the acceptors.

Maybe he doesn't know what he's got or how to fix it.
