The brass check valve is likely re-branded RegO. RegO products are not inexpensive.
We install RegO's Stainless Steel version. Most have never been touched. Many are over 30 years old.

Well, there you go...different experiences.
The 30some RegOs that we've installed in the last 3 years perform as reliably as the ones installed over the last 30 years.

WOW, just checked and the 3/8" Rego SS cv's are up to $108.95. Ouch....I remember buying the rebranded 3/8" SS Rego's for under $20ea...They are now $63.55
