Cleaning Lenses

Just replaced all my HID bulbs with CFLs and while doing so, noticed my glass lenses on the Hubbell fixtures are really dirty with soap buildup, etc. Anyone recommend a cleaner or procedure to get them back to original condition? I've tried regular type cleaners to no avail.

My Hubbell lenses were discolored too. Except my fixtures have plastic lenses, not glass....I tried everything to clean them, but the discoloration appeared to be from heat, not soap buildup.

KR has repalcement covers/lenses for $59 bucks....I've replaced 2 so far to see if I can tell a difference. While the difference is not extremely noticable, I will replace all of them in the near future....The plastic lenses should be ok to use now since there is very little heat buildup in the fixtures.

I use “Zap” Bath Tub/Shower cleaner with a green scrubber pad on the Bay signs and Glass light lens. The stuff works great.

The Dow "Scrubbing bubbles" bathroom cleaner should work on plastic lenses without damaging them.

The "Scrubbing Bubbles" is one I didn't try...Thanks for the tip. I'll let you know if it works.
