1 MONTH UPDATE!! I installed the Coinless payment app system at my SS car wash, 1 month ago (on September 15th), and wanted to let you know how it's going. As I posted earlier, we had some problems with the installation of the devices, but that was due to an inexperienced electrician and Comcast not activating the WIFI Pro (WIFI extender). I have 5 SS wash bays and 5 vacuums.

From day 1, customers were excited about the technology and immediately downloaded the app. They receive a $5 credit when they download the app. Customer feedback has been extremely positive! They like how easy and responsive the app is. They scan the QR code on the sign, then swipe to start/end the time with their smartphone.

Here are the numbers so far...

Net Income: $1069.82
Customer downloads: 203
Transactions: 378
Customer reviews: 161 (with 4.5 droplet rating)
Average ticket: $15.58
10% new customers / 90% repeat customers

SIGNAGE
I posted a Coinless app sign (with QR code) in each bay and vacuum. At the cash machine, I also mounted a 9" x 12" sign, set-up an A-frame sign (24" x 36") and hung a 3' x 8' banner on the building. These additional signs are VERY important, as I quickly learned that the QR codes on the bay & vacuum signs DO NOT direct customers to where they can download the app. While the promotional signs at the cash machine do.

I've already had a couple of positive customer interactions. One customer posted feedback that my tokens don't register in the bays or vacuums, when he's using the app (tokens count down, while the app counts up). He lost 3 ($1 in tokens). I was able to call him directly (since I had his cell #, and talk with him, then "sent" him $5 in credits for the future. A few days ago, a customer called to complain that my cash machine wasn't taking his wet paper bills. With Coinless, I was able to remotely turn the bay on for him so he could finish washing his car.

I set-up the Loyalty Rewards, where customers receive $5 gift for every $50 they spend. I don't intend to setup the Membership program.

I'm very excited with the results so far, and know the numbers will continue to increase as word spreads. Customers also receive a $1 credit when they refer a friend to download the Coinless app.

Your numbers don't seem to compute. Average transaction would be $2.83. Is this a count down set up and they have to activate the bay again on the app after it stops? With Cryptopay we can remotely start any bay, vac or auto.

How do you start a bay remotely with Crypto pay?

I just asked and they said it wasn't possible?

I just logged in to make sure they did not take it away and sure enough we still have the ability. Ours is under the "site status" page where it shows the connected devices at the bottom. I'm guessing that the lower level support people do not know that it exists but we have had it for over a year now IIRC. It seems as though I had called about a bug that our system has that for years that they won't fix and in talking to a higher level person there they added the remote start ability to our dashboard. (probably to get me to shut up about the bug)

They can work with Everwash, so makes sense that the option has to exist. I have Coinless on every device, so no need for remote activation with cryptopay, but it is nice to know it can be done. Are you able to set a certain time limit, or just turn a bay on and off?

What is the "Bug"? It's nice to know these things.

I just had an issue last week with my Wash Select Cryptopay. Our wash had blown a fuse at the transformer so all of our three phase equipment was down as well as everything that was on that leg such as our internet. Lots of equipment seemed to be messed up like my DVR monitor is hosed now. One Wash Select was down the other was still accepting payments. One customer bought a $10 wash on her card and the wash wouldn't activate but she got a notification on her phone that evening saying she had a pending $10 charge from us. I assured her that she wouldn't be charged. One week later she emails me her statement and not only was she charged on that day but she was charged again the following day? If I search my Cryptopay Dashboard for her card number it doesn't show up anywhere. I aslo logged into WorldPay and searched for her transaction and its not there either?! I'm curious who her credit card sent the funds to because I surely didn't get them

Glad you like it Kimberly. What was the gross income? I'm curious how much you're giving up in fees.

The feature can't turn it off. All it does is the same action as swiping a card in person.

On our count down devices (vacs) our attendant cards sometimes will activate the swiper but does not send the coin pulses so it shuts down the vac after 2 seconds. It happens to all the vacs and only started after we installed a Cryptotap on the auto. The only "fix" they have is to roll back our vac swipers to the old code and it did fix the issue. Then we noticed that the swipes were not consolidated into a single ticket anymore so we had them revert it back to the newer code. We just put up with it the issue.

Very good point! I'm wondering if it's based on a Gross Income and NOT Net Income. I'm still learning about their Portal, and emailing Coinless now with my questions. Stay tuned...
