Does anyone have a repair for rails that are getting dips in them? We are looking at replacing some rails but were wondering if there was an alternative repair out there.

I can't find the thread, but a couple years ago I had a local machine shop/welding place come out and weld 3/8" strips of steel on top of my existing track. It cost around $1000 to do this and it smoothed the machine out nicely. They used high manganese steel which is supposed to be highly wear resistant.
