Coleman Vacuum motor replacement?

With or without the spiral protector the hose can get rough and pick up dirt.
On a similar note, any idea what size crush guard I should use for 1/4" poly tube? I have been wanting to add some to my tire shine tubing for years, and now I can just order multiple sizes while it's on my mind. Thanks.

Of the ones Earl linked before, only the .8 ID is the crush-guard. The rest is just split poly tubing meant for wrapping wires and may not give the same protection.

Does anyone have a source for replacement seals for the doors?
!
I have not tried this and it may not be the right size, but the cross-section is identical. When I saw how much it costs, I took the old ones off, cleaned the groove, and used silicone to glue them back on. They had shrunk in length a lot which left a 1" gap where the ends were supposed to meet which was easy to fix. I filled the gap with silicone adhesive, put masking tape over it and shut the door and left it out of service overnight. The next day it had a perfect seal.

Thanks for the tips guys! I have another question about the vacuums. How often would you clean the filters and do you scrub the insides of the machines? I was cleaning the machines this morning and started scrubbing them I thought I may be crazy but I hate when there is a bad smell from the vacuums when I have used them at other places. Also, I spent about 5 minutes picking $3 in change out of the trash like a crack head. I guess I will get over that soon and just trash it.
I only wash Vac Filters if all other possible solution for bad suction fails. If you have a bad smell it may be moisture in a warm climate over time. Perhaps throwing a chlorine tab in the trash compartment would solve the issue.

Our vacuums are the highest income generator on the property so we keep them fine tune. We have an extra set of vacuums bags and we swap them out every August, wash them and keep them until next time they are due to be changed. At that time we also replace the vacuum motor brushes and replace the seals around the doors. We also clean out the vacuums every 3 days and shake down the bags once a week. The car wash on the other end of town, they haven’t figured out how to maintain their vacuums yet so they don’t work very well.

Update on this, I ordered two new motors from Kleen-rite and installed them. I Rebuilt the fragrance feature, and replaced the faceplate with a new one from Jim Coleman. I also replaced the lights on top so people may notice the vac is up and running again.
Did you do anything with the display on the front?

I removed the bubblers and installed the colored tubes, and replaced the decal. It has an Led6 timer already and it everything is now working. I still need to get some of that crush guard to install on the fragrance line and replace the decals on the sides, I’m going to get some made locally and branded to match my scheme.

Did you think about the lights like post #5. years ago when I still had bubblers I wired the female end of an outlet to the power so I could simply plug in the air pumps. Now I use it to swap out the LED every few years.

Yes, I think that light idea is excellent and I will be ordering some led lights to us like that.

Does anyone recommend an adapter to attach the 2” vacuum hose to the stainless steel vacuum inlet? Maybe with a swivel?

Not with a Coleman vacuum. Some of mine are IVS which has a stub under a shroud, and if you shave the threads off one side of a swivel splice it goes over the stub and stays with a large hose clamp. Maybe you could use the swivel splice with a short piece of hose in the vac and get it tight enough where it holds against the vac.

On the Coleman you can take a pair of lineman's pliers and bend a couple of spots in the opening. It will act as sort of a thread starter and you can then screw the hose in. Works OK

I’m going to try some different methods of attaching the hose in the next few days and will report back.

Where do you guys get the fragrance decals for each scent? I’ve got the machine rockin and rollin but I just realized I have no decals.
