In selecting a contractor how important is that they do the project in a certain amount of time? How long do you see a typical chain or belt project take from the purchasing of the land to when the first car runs through it? What can a contractor do to differentiate itself from other folks building these? We build car washes in Alabama and find that we are very competitive on price but want to see what everyone else does and what we could do to better serve this market.

Own a large electrical company. Biggest thing to me would be complete the project on time and under budget. Assume most of the new 2-5 million car wash owners want them done as quickly as possible. Interest is crazy. Secure your material and make sure all subs do the same so project can be done the most efficiently and cost conscious as possible. Give the end user what you say you will or a little more. Repeat customers created.

Be fully accountable to the customer. One of my biggest complaints with contractors is the lack of accountability regarding returned phone calls keeping to their schedule and being on time for appointments.

................... How long do you see a typical chain or belt project take
"Typical" may take a tough call since municipalities requiring periodic inspections can vary widely. (Other factors vary widely as well.) Not long ago had an experience where the city required a minor change and it was done in a day but it took the City 10 days to come back and sign off before the project could proceed.
