Recently some friends made me aware of some good programs that I've installed and thought that maybe some of you would also benefit from.

CCleaner: ccleaner.com cleans up the register plus other stuff

Defragler from the same outfit as above.

Malwarebytes.com same name does a good job of finding crap on your computer.

Lastpass.com A password vault that makes logging into all of your places easy and foolproof.

Secunia PSI, finds bad stuff and updates your programs.

The same (type of people) that are bothersome at the car wash are making programs to try and destroy our computers with viruses and other problems.
Thanks for the program info

That software is great freeware. I used it when I was a Windows user.

... Just so I set the record straight, I'm a recovering Windows user. 5 years clean thanks to Mac rehab.

I will vouch for malwarebytes.com. In my "other" job I am technical manager for an IT Support firm. Our engineers use malwarebytes a couple times a day. It finds the nasty annoying stuff that the AV compaines do not detect as a "virus". These items slow your PC down, cause pop ups, cause the anoying fake virus scans, it removes the lot of them.
