any of suggestions on how to keep those hose ends and rod ends from corrosion? I use corrosionX but that doesnt help much.

btw i just replace 5 rod end on the boom and another oscillating hose that last 6 months...these things dont last long and expensive parts, just a little over a year. talk about bad return on investment JC has stand on top of the list.

Go too NAPA store and buy the rod ends ( good price compared to JC.)and keep them well lubed.

I get my rod ends with grease fittings in the side from Motion Industries. One squirt per month from the grease gun has kept them working for a little over 2 years…previously I was getting only 6 months before the inner races would wear out.

What kind/size rod ends are they? My Mark VIIs use SS rod ends. I can get them from Mcmaster Carr for about 15 bucks each.

7/16 right hand... i found some at Ace Hardware. I just want to protect them from corrosion for as long as possible. I have grease down the new rod ends and gona keep them grease , hopefully they will last longer this time. I also sprayed one of the rod end with galvanize coating (with no greasing) , let see which approach will be better.
Im experimenting with the oscillating hose fittings as well with these approach.

I found a product called "Fluid Film" from Eureka Chemicals in Cal. Been using it for several years now on anything that moves or can become corroded. Seems to work very well.Use it on my tie rod ends with good success.

Mcmaster Carr has a wide selection of rod ends. So does Applied.com With or without grease fittings. You cannot coat the ball of the rod due to its motion. Some rod ends have brass inserts and some plastic and some stainless. Get good rod ends and keep them lubricated. Mine last well over a year-some have grease fittings and some have oilite ("self lubricating") inserts. The ones without a grease fitting I lubricate a couple times a week with a silicone spray lubricant called Zep45. For the hoses I had some made at a local hose shop - they used a hose that was nylon braided, not wire braided. They last a long time as long as you don't make them too short, which tightens up the bend radius. The end fittings on the hoses never rust out. Some of mine are 6 years old and still functioning fine.
