Counterfeit Bills and bill changers

I go back to my original question: Has anyone had a known counterfeit ten or twenty go through a bill changer?

In over 30 years with Standard ChangeMaker's non MEI verifier version we have not had a single counterfeit accepted. Unless the bank missed one from us .... not likely. We were always careful to update the firmware as recommended which possibly has some bearing along with not going to low on the security setting.

I have a friend who in his laundromat in NYC said that his Standard was setup to change $50 bills. It might have a bill to bill breaker though not sure. I know if we could successfully lobby for higher denomination coins ... changing $50s would probably be more common. Just a thought. That would take the right kind of spunk though IMHO.

As per post # 2 I do not recall if it happened to us, but is it did happen and as others posted it's been quite some time.

You might want to turn off the button so you don’t accept $20’s for a while.

Never seen one in my Rowe 1400 or American Bill changer.
