Crap debit cards

This summer has reached a new high in no name crap debit cards that wont work in either Crypto or Hamilton equipment.
I have my minimum charge raised up so I dont get charge backs.
but wow its pain
Some guy today had 4 debit cards - non of which would work
People waiting in line
He is mad
I m mad
I hate debit cards!!!!!!!!

Have not seen it at the wash, but I occasionally get a debit card as a gift and they can be pretty finicky at some vendors.

I must have the knack when people can't get their cards to work. I will take the card and wipe the mag stripe on my pants to clean it. The readers work when swiped in either direction and by trying it both ways I bet I get 90% of them to work.

The local banks all have their own bank-branded cards that don't seem to work well in my crypto pay Swipers. A regular Visa or MasterCard or Discover almost always works unless it's very worn out. I don't know if it's a cheap magnetic strip or thinner plastic that the card is made of or what but yes it's very frustrating for customers. If one of the credit card processing hardware companies figure this problem out I bet a lot of car wash owners would be interested.
