On Christmas morning 2020, I found a bunch of high-quality ski boots & equipment in our trash cans. Some were brand new with tags. We thought it was odd, so called local police department, and set everything aside. Turns out everything belonged to a family on their way to the ski slopes. The family got most of their stufff back and posed for a photo!
Over the years I’ve some pretty cool stuff at the car wash.
One Monday we drove into the car wash there was a expensive 3 person tent with nice sleeping bags, small backpacker stove, a lantern and a bunch of personal items, no ID. Looked like they took out of the back of there car and left it. I kept it for 90 days and then gave it to my kids.
Another time I watched a guy wash 4 big chrome wheels for a full-size Chevy truck and 4 big mud tires. When he got done washing everything he drove off. I yelled at him that he forgot his wheels and tires, he flipped me off and kept on going. I kept the stuff for 90 days and sold everything, the tires had about 90% tread left on each wheel. I think I got around $500 for everything.
One time I found 2 unopened cases of 24 per case of a special 3m air fed hood power supply. I looked them up and each one was worth $250. It took me awhile, but I sold everyone of them.
I found a really nice shark vacuum sticking out of my trash can one Sunday morning. at first glance I thought it was a Weedwhacker!
I took it apart and cleaned it all up and it worked perfectly. I still use it to this day. It's a great little vacuum. Somebody used it until it got too dirty to have any suction anymore and then threw it away.
