Not true regarding installing it in 3 bays vs 1 - there's at least one system that costs the same per bay to install, made by Etowah Valley Equipment. It can replace a Dixmor LED-7 timer. If one unit is added now, no other equipment is needed, and future units can be added later with no extra wiring.
to me it made sense to add them in my two slowest bays, which were the two farthest from the changer. doing this brought those two bays up to the same level of revenue as the other four, until i added cc units to the other bays. i put up a big banner over those two bays and it was only about 3 or 4 months until i was almost forced to upgrade the other bays.
Which credit card system is everyone using? What were your considerations in chosing a particular system? Did you install yourself or have a distributor install it?
I'm looking into credit card systems and would be interested in everyone's views of pros and cons of different systems.
We went with the Hamilton D.A.N. - I like everything about it except the fees. Regardless of what they tell you, you will have two separate transaction fees for each card swipe in count-up mode. If they would allow batching of transactions or a large pre-approval at the first swipe, it would be much more cost-effective to add to vacs and even vendors.
