Just asking the question. I am looking at a pretty cool CC box for my Self Serve bays.

USATECH.COM it's the Edge G8

Looks like you are locked into there Merchant Service at .5 per 1.00

In adding CC services has anyone noticed significant business increase?

50 cents for every $1?? That's steep! I'd keep looking at other CC vendors. WashGear has a pretty good setup, but I'm partial because I own two of their systems.

Before you commit to any Credit card system the first words out of your mouth or your first question should be ?Is your system PCI compliant?? If the answer is No or No but we are working on it, find another system.

I believe all in all when I get my statement from the cc processor, it equates to around 5% in fees total. Breaking it down it's something like .05 per swipe + a percentage of the sale.

You must PCI compliant if you accept debit cards at remote locations without verification such as in your bays or purchasing gas at the pumps.
It is anticipated to be in affect sometime next year but who knows for sure.
I'm not sure but I would think if you are not PCI compliant big brother will probably fine you.
I don't believe you have to be PCI compliant if you do not accept debit cards and only accept credit cards in your bays.
