I put both swipe and tap on new meter doors 18 months ago (2 units). Both Taps quit working within the last month about 2 weeks apart from each other. Both show connected in crypto, but blue light is not working. Not sure its worth replacing at $400 each. Swipers are still working so thats good.
I've had two Taps where the first Blue light that is normally always on stopped working. If you tap a card, the remaining lights will flash and the unit still works. One I sent back for warranty repair, the other I just rolled with.

My tap is doing the same thing and I also installed it about 18 months ago as well, started acting up in the middle of December. I need to disconnect it from power and reconnect it to get it working again for a little while before I need to repeat the process. Maybe we got a bad batch? Did you talk to cryptopay about it? I've been meaning to but haven't had a chance yet.

Since mine is on an IBA still looks pretty much brand new and isn't exposed to water or anything.

Mine are on a WSII. I also had another issue but I don’t exactly recall the circumstances. If memory serves me correctly I had a relatively new swiper that was rejecting almost all cards. After calling tech support he was able to see that the cryptotap was messed up causing the issue. I’m pretty sure all I had to do to fix that was unplug the tap for a while and then plug back in. I wouldn’t have guessed the tap to cause the swiper to not read but it did somehow.
