We have always noticed that the stainless steel body surrounding the button is always noticeably warmer than the button itself or the swiper body in our bays. We recently added a swiper to a vac that is in the sun most of the day and the button body is so hot that it seems like it might burn your finger if you left it there long enough. On an 85F cloudless day and with my cheap infrared laser thermometer the swiper body was about 135-140 depending on where I checked it. The button body seems much hotter (150+?) but I guess because it is so small I cant get a reading from it. I'm assuming the body is used for the LED driver heat sink but it still seems a bit hot. For reference the swiper body in the bay (in the shade) was about 91F and the freshly seal coated asphalt was 130F. Anyone notice anything like this? The voltage output on that transformer on that vac seemed a bit high and I can't remember exactly what it was but it seemed like it was about 27 volts. Could that have anything to do with it? I'm concerned about the longevity of the swiper and button.
